[Unstable Update] 2021-12-13 - Python 3.10 Rebuilds

Hello community,

Another unstable branch update with some usual updates for you.

Rumours stating pacman-mirrors is unmaintained has it all wrong. Pacman-mirrors is a core Manjaro package and will not become unmaintained.

With this package sync - pacman-mirrors is v4.23.1 with numereous small cosmetic fixes over the past months.

Find out whats new in Python 3.10

  • We pulled 2560 packages from Arch due to Python 3.10 rebuilds.
  • We will start to build our overlay packages against that, which might take a while
  • Report any issues you may have with this

:information_source: You will need to rebuild any AUR packages that install files to site-packages. :information_source:

You may need to rebuild any Python packages you’ve installed from the AUR. To get a list of them, you can run:

pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.9

And to rebuild them all at once with an AUR helper such as yay, you can do:

yay -S $(pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.9) --answerclean All

But if any of the packages don’t work with Python 3.10 yet, this might fail halfway through and you’ll have to do rebuild the remaining ones one or a few at a time.

Get our latest daily developer images now from Github: Plasma, Gnome, XFCE. You get the latest stable releases of Manjaro from CDN77.

Nothing serious, but I received this error:

installing python (3.10.1-1) breaks dependency ‘python<3.10’ required by pkgbrowser

I don’t know if you would consider uninstalling it a solution but that’s what I did and I’m updating now.

Maybe it’s just me but I seem to have better luck with pamac upgrade in the terminal.

I got no problem with pacman.

Hey folks! The only thing I noticed at the moment is that I’m no longer able to manage bluetooth devices via Gnome Settings. I’m fully using Pipewire as media server.

I haven’t had a chance to troubleshoot this yet but will do as soon as I can

Same here…

Remove mugshot, update then reinstall it. 0.4.3-2 is the updated rebuild.

Noticed no display on X but can access virtual terminals fine as well as internet access. I’m currently trying to find out what package is responsible and what I can do to resolve it and what feedback to give.

Perfect, thank you.
