PC crash when using controller

Hello! So all of a sudden when I use steam and play games using my controller, my game freeze and I have to restart my pc. I can play games while not using a controller, but as soon as I plug it in, the pc just freeze and I cant do anything. I have tried two different controllers, different USB outlets etc.

Two days ago everything worked just fine, so I have no idea what the problem might be… Hopefully someone here might be able to help or atleast explain to me what the problem is!

Also, please provide the output for:

sudo journalctl --priority=3 --boot=-1

from a successful boot immediately after a crash.

The --boot=-1 parameter can be adjusted to how many computer boots ago ever a crash happened.

im sorry but I dont really understand anything lol! So I dunno what to do, since that text doesn’t make any sense for me. What I can say is that everything works just fine when not using a controller inside a steam game. It boots fine and so on! It’s only when I either plug in a controller while inside a game on steam, or start a game with a controller already plugged in. No idea why, it might be because an update? There is likely more information than the single screen of logs you copied.

Supposing the failure occurred in the previous boot:

journalctl --boot=-1 --priority=3 --catalog | less

less allows the user to manually browse through the output of the prepended command. Without it, the whole output would be printed at once, which is inconvenient while in TTY.
Use Page Up and Page Down to navigate, and Q to exit.

• no need to sudo for reading journalctl.
• use of | less is preferable so the whole lines are printed, yet still navigable.
