The most recent update worked flawlessly on my other 2 computers as expected but sadly my Laptop crashed during the update

Now i cant upgrade past kernel 6.3
Im pretty sure i was running 6.4 without issues but i cant 100% confirm

but the package still installs

I cant boot kernel 6.4 or 6.5

I tried to

boot off usb
connect to internet
manjaro-chroot
sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux64 linux65
but it still didnt fix the problem

I dont want to lose my 3 year old install but it is what it is, let me know

Two people reporting crashes in thunderbird 115.2.0 when accessing remote calendars.

The calendar freezes when subscribing to a network calendar via CALDAV

Since last big Update of Thunderbird the calendars are freezing when subscribing to a network calendar via CALDAV, sometimes just by incident, sometimes if I want to add a new date the calendar/thunderbird freezes. I am using networt calendars with CALDAV. It is interesting that quite no other Linux distribution except Manjaro has integrated the big (unmature) update of Thunderbird.

I just installed the latest updates and the new Thunderbird (115.2.0) now hangs all the time. First it only hang when adding a calendar event and now it always hangs 30 seconds after launching. The only thing I can do is kill the process. Is this a known issue? I am on Manjaro XFCE but I am using i3 as the window manager. remove the kernel parameter. 6.5 introduced new thermal handling, and although your kernel parameter should not be causing the issue, it is unnecessary.

This worked until a reboot, but it seems that NetworkManager overwrites /etc/resolv.conf on every boot since this update. Can anyone suggest a more idiomatic fix than chattr +i?

Add file /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/99-rc-manager-unmanaged:

rc-manager=unmanaged

Please see man NetworkManager.conf for details.

but it goes “black screen” if switch to 6.5.0 (after entering password on login screen), it can be solved by reverting back to 6.4.12

After this update, my PC apparently became sluggish, even after rebooting twice. I was still running kernel 5.15. I updated to Linux 6.1, and now the system feels fluid and reactive again.

Thanks - this solved the issue of resolv.conf being overwritten, but after my laptop had been on for half an hour or so, it stopped being able to see any WiFi networks. I think I’ll just stop using MagicDNS for now, and let NetworkManager do what it wants to resolv.conf.

Final update, fingers crossed: I’ve enabled and started systemd-resolved. Tailscale still prints the “wired together incorrectly” message, but MagicDNS works again, and my connectivity hasn’t disappeared yet.
