After rebooting my laptop because i git cloned a link, wifi won’t show up anymore and after running “nmcli connection up” it throws this error : No suitable device found for this connection (device wlp44s0 not available because device is not available). Wifi worked fine before i tried git cloning so i don’t know what’s the problem here.
Also this is my first post im sorry if i missed anything
Hi @6thbird, and welcome!
In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:
Please also note and heed: Forum Rules - Manjaro
Those with privacy concerns: note that when -z
, or --filter
is used, all personally identifiable information is filtered out from the resulting inxi
output.
Hope you manage!
Tip for legibility:
To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:
```
pasted text
```
Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:
~~~
pasted text
~~~
This will just cause it to be rendered like this:
Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.
Instead of like this:
Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.
Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.
Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

Additionally
If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C
. For example:
LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl
This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.
Please edit your post accordingly.
Note that the above text is partially pre-prepared as a general introduction for new forum users. Please take the time to follow links given and learn how to create effective support requests and encourage quality responses.

output is only needed once. Some inxi
parameters are now deprecated or unnecessary - the command given is preferred even though both commands generate virtually identical output. The output has also been placed in a scrollable preformatted text container (using ``` instead of ~~~).
No worries, that’s why we have the tutorials, after all.
If I’m not mistaken it looks like the WiFi card is offline. I’d venture to say disabled. a Git clone is unable to do this. I did a git clone this morning and everything on my computer’s fine, so I’d say that is purely coincidental.
Double check that it hasn’t become disabled in the BIOS/UEFI somewhere, or that it is perhaps disabled VIA hardware key-combination.
If it still doesn’t worik, please provide the output of:
rfikill
and
nmcli device wifi list
I checked the bios, nothing was disabled and i my laptop doesn’t have any key shortcuts that disable the wifi function (besides my knowledge).
heres the output for rfkill:
ID TYPE DEVICE SOFT HARD
0 bluetooth hci0 blocked unblocked
1 wlan phy0 unblocked unblocked
and here’s for nmcli device wifi list:
IN-USE BSSID SSID MODE CHAN RATE SIGNAL BARS SECURITY
My mistake, it should have been:
nmcli device
No worries, here’s the output:
DEVICE TYPE STATE CONNECTION
lo loopback connected (externally) lo
wlp44s0 wifi unavailable --
I’m kind of shooting in the dark here, I don’t use Wifi - I’m a copper user and happy with it.
Please provide the output of:
nmcli radio
Here’s the output:
WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW WWAN
enabled enabled missing enabled
Hmmm…all looks good there. Please provide the output of:
systemctl status wpa_supplicant.service
Edit:
Have you tried with a different kernel perhaps?
This is the output, (i set my desktop’s name to twerp):

Edit:
Nope, i have only used kernel version 6.12.25-1-MANJARO
Hmmm…according to what I’ve read here:
WPA Supplicant and NetworkManager may conflict if they both attempt to manage the same interface. Try to disable wpa_supplicant
with:
sudo systemctl disable wpa_supplicant.service
Then reboot again and test.
After rebooting, i checked the networks menu and the wifi option to turn on and off doesn’t even appear anymore, i checked if it was disabled using
systemctl status wpa_supplicant.service
and it is disabled, any other ideas?
Sadly, I have none. Someone else might, though, but I don’t. Sorry.

Now for some reason device wlp44s0 doesn’t appear, this is really stumping me
Try an older kernel. Perhaps 6.6, as it’s also LTS, or 6.14, the latest. That’s all I can suggest otherwise.
Shut down (completely) and unplug the power for 5 minutes (minimum). Then plug it in again and switch on…
Report back if the device seems work then.

I just decided to completely reintsall manjaro and the problem got fixed
OP reinstalled Manjaro which seems to have fixed the issue
@6thbird
Important: New Manjaro 25.0.1 ISO is available from Downloads.
It is highly recommended to recreate your Manjaro Installer USB using the new ISO, or if using a Ventoy USB, replace the existing Manjaro ISO with the new one.
Regards.
