:information_source: You may need to rebuild any AUR packages that install files to site-packages … :information_source:

You may need to rebuild any Python packages you’ve installed from the AUR. To get a list of them, you can run:

pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.9

And to rebuild them all at once with an AUR helper such as yay, you can do:

yay -S $(pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.9) --answerclean All

But if any of the packages don’t work with Python 3.10 yet, this might fail halfway through and you’ll have to do rebuild the remaining ones one or a few at a time.

3 posts were split to a new topic: What is the “toolchain” for?

Nothing to complain about aside from usual new Plasma issues that are yet to be covered by upcoming point-releases. The first one is just a batch of some fast-and-easy bugfixes.
My point is: pls don’t let it into Stable yet.

A post was split to a new topic: I can’t install any AUR packages from Pamac

2 posts were split to a new topic: Pamac crashes when checking dependencies

I can’t install the updates today because:

  • unable to satisfy dependency ‘pipewire-alsa’ required by manjaro-pipewire
  • removing pipewire-alsa breaks dependency ‘pulseaudio-alsa’ required by gnome-settings-daemon

same here. then when I’m trying to remove it, I run into a catch-22:

pikaur -R pipewire-alsa
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing pipewire-alsa breaks dependency 'pipewire-alsa' required by manjaro-pipewire

pipewire-alsa also provides pulseaudio-alsa. You’ve had the wrong package installed the whole time. See PipeWire - ArchWiki

sudo pacman -Rdd pulseaudio-alsa
sudo pacman -S --asdeps pipewire-alsa

@Yochanan
When i try
sudo pacman -Rdd pulseaudio-alsa
I get:
error: target not found: pulseaudio-alsa

Thx, that helped!!

Ah, crap. Hang on, 20220217-2 incoming in a few minutes.

With 20220217-2 the updates were done normally!

A post was split to a new topic: Do I have a mirror issue

(1/3) upgrading geoclue
warning: directory permissions differ on /usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/
filesystem: 750 package: 755

is this adviseable

Seems only geoclue thinks the permissions should be 755 but other packages for that directory do not. I’m going to leave the permissions at 750 unless the manjaro team advises us to change it.

pacman -Qo /usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d
/usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/ is owned by flatpak 1.12.6-1
/usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/ is owned by fwupd 1.7.5-1
/usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/ is owned by geoclue 2.6.0-1
/usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/ is owned by polkit 0.120-4
/usr/share/polkit-1/rules.d/ is owned by systemd 250.3-4

permissions fixed in latest release of geoclue 2.6.0-2, no change necessary

latest flatpak and appstream:

Those are warnings, not errors. If it bothers you, please report them upstream

FS#72909 - [appstream] Update to 0.15 gives some error.
