Problem with reboot to Windows 10

Problems with second screen

Reboot in Manjaro

So, once upon a time I wanted to reboot into Manjaro, and after booting into Manjaro I got on the second screen resolution 640x480. It was terrible. Then I tried to change resolution in settings but there wasn’t options to choose another resolutions.

Reboot in Windows 10

I rebooted into Windows 10. I got the same idea, that was on Manjaro, I couldn’t change resolutions. I tried to reboot my PC and tried to replug HDMI cable to my second screen. But it doesn’t help.

P.S.

I found solution to this problem. But it’s very tedious, you need to do a lot of shenanigans to solve this.

Hi @UeberTimaeus, and welcome!

This isn’t normal behaviour. However, I can only imagine how tedious.

The only reason I can think of for something like this. is that your Linux (Manjaro) system does not have write permissions to be able to save the configuration.

Which begs two questions:

  1. How did you install your system(s): and
  2. on what file systems is it installed?

So it should be kind of obvious that more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Hope you manage!

:bangbang: Tip: :bangbang:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:

~~~
pasted text
~~~

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

:bangbang::bangbang: Additionally

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

Please edit your post accordingly.
