Hi,
So my situation is very weird. My fake-ish Xbox 360 controller itself works, but very but when I freshly installed Manjaro it worked perfectly fine but after some time it stopped working and only got recognized. And yes on steam too, it even vibrates when I tested it. Button input doesnt work.
Hi @EskimoGabe,
In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:
- [HowTo] Provide System Information,
- [HowTo] Post screenshots and links,
- [HowTo] Request support, and
- [HowTo] Post command output and file content as formatted text.
Please also note and heed: Forum Rules - Manjaro
Hope you manage!
Tip:
To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:
```
pasted text
```
Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:
~~~
pasted text
~~~
This will just cause it to be rendered like this:
Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.
Instead of like this:
Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.
Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.
Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.
Additionally
If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C
. For example:
LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl
This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.
Please edit your post accordingly.
Please also provide the output for:
…executed while the dev8ice is plugged in.

This is what I got do I have to install Xinput via Aur?
No, it would seem the xorg-xinput
package from the extra
repository isn’t installed. So install it first:
pamac install xorg-xinput
…and then try the above command again, please.

hmm should unplug everything and make another with and without only the controller?
Yes, please. I was hoping/thinking it might have an obvious name.

…with a driver loaded, makes me think the controller is FUBAR. Terribly sorry.
Well its not FUBAR not at all. On Windows 11, just tested it. Works perfectly fine. Works Perfect. Its only here which stopped working for some reason.
Try a different kernel?
ok ok do I need a flash drive or can I do it inside Linux?
Yes, this might be a valid approach. Well, it won’t do any harm. According to https://linux-hardware.org/?id=usb:045e-028e the driver is in Kernel versions 2.6.26 - 6.3, so another kernel might actually work…
I recommend version 6.1 as it’s LTS and will be maintained for 10 years. So, to install it, just run:
sudo mhwd-kernel --install linux61
You can do it from your current installation.
Reboot into it and test:
All available kernels installed on your system will be presented upon booting up. GNU GRUB is visible with a couple of options. Choose “Advanced Options for Manjaro Linux” by using the arrow keys ↑ ↓ on your keyboard and then ↵ Enter.
On the next screen (as illustrated) are backup copies of each kernel version installed (which will also be automatically removed if or when a kernel version is deleted). To select a kernel, simply use the arrow keys ↑ ↓ to highlight the desired version, and then press ↵ Enter.
It was the kernel omg thank you btw that you helped me and that small tip with the GRUB
Glad I could help!
