Lenovo legion pro 7i - none of the hardware seems to be recognized

I just installed the plasma kde on my new lenovo legion pro 7i but none of the hardware seems to be recognized, nothing works even the network works sometimes, no sound at all etc… Any idea?

here are the specs:

Model: 16" Legion Pro 7i 16IRX8H Gaming Laptop

2.2 GHz Intel Core i9 24-Core (13th Gen)
32GB DDR5 RAM | 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD
16" 2560 x 1600 240 Hz IPS Display
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (16GB GDDR6)

Thanks in advance :slight_smile:

Hi @jprrpro, and welcome!

In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Hope you manage!

:bangbang: Tip: :bangbang:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:

~~~
pasted text
~~~

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

:bangbang::bangbang: Additionally

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

Please edit your post accordingly.

In addition to the help kindly provided by @Mirdarthos I’ll just add that your hardware is probably too new for mainstream Linux distributions in general. It usually takes some time for new hardware to become compatible.

This is not a failing of Manjaro, or Linux; it’s just the way things are. Support for your hardware will no doubt come sooner or later (hopefully sooner) as Linux volunteers woldwide work toward adding that support.

Cheers.

Hardware is too new for current Linux kernels
