CUPS: Unable to create PPD file

Hello.

I have been unable to install a Ricoh printer (it is working through a MS Windows).

E [29/Sep/2022:10:09:05 -0300] [CGI] Unable to create PPD file: Could not poll sufficient capability info from the printer (ipps://RICOH%20SP%20377SFNwX%20(f41baa)._ipps._tcp.local/, ipps://377SFNwX-F41BAA.local:443/ipp/print) via IPP!

Hi @bemanu, and welcome!

In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Hope you manage!

Tip:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

I wonder if this is what you need? AUR (en) - ricoh-sp2200-sp3xx-ppds

This info might help:

CUPS/Printer-specific problems - ArchWiki

… but you could have told us what model of printer you have - it’s often rather important to know that :wink:

I’m trying to install a RICOH SP 377SFNwX.

I installed AUR (en) - ricoh-sp2200-sp3xx-ppds and openprinting-ppds-pxlmono-ricoh/. Then I tried again CUPS and the printer appeared to be added. But I still unable to print.

From /var/log/cups/error_log:

E [30/Sep/2022:09:04:39 -0300] [Client 93] Returning IPP server-error-internal-error for CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer (ipp://localhost/printers/RICOH-RICOH-SP-377SFNwX) from localhost.

W [30/Sep/2022:09:06:56 -0300] [Job 20] A impressora está inacessível neste momento.

The printer is working for Windows. But not for Linux.
