Clean install latest manjaro KDE on redmibook 15 7840HS have black screen issue when shutting down system

  1. I was tried manjaro kde linux66 version last year on the exact same hardware device(with older BIOS version), at that time, my kde works all good.
  2. I was tried manjaro kde linux610 latest(build 2024-10-11) clear install multi-times this morning(booting with property and booting with free are both have been tried, encounter same issue, see below) on my device(latest BIOS), now the problem is:
    1. I can boot normally, and GUI and x11 acting normally, and I could play some simple video game(so I think it’s not GPU driver issue). BUT when I click shutdown button, all system black out(but no window is closed, they just remain there) and refuse to shutdown power(even after a long time). If I sudo reboot in CLI, the system reboot normally
    2. journalctl | grep kde shows:

Please be aware that kernel 6.10 has reached EOL.

At this time, you can either switch to kernel 6.11 or revert to kernel 6.6 (LTS). For your reference, the next LTS kernel is expected to become available sometime in November – Kernel 6.12 (LTS).

If (as you say) 6.6 worked for you previously, then that’s possibly a good choice until 6.12 is released.

If nothing else, reverting to 6.6 should then rule out any kernel compatibility issues, and allow you to focus on whatever else might be contributing.

Quick tip: You seem to be using BTRFS. When asking for support please let us know that from the start as those wishing to help might assume EXT4 and offer the wrong advice.

After browsing through the errors in your log I’m unable to offer anything constructive; others might have a better chance.

Have you tried running Wayland instead of X11?

There is a bug in the session restore functionality of Plasma right now, which yields the symptoms you are describing. Therefore, you must disable starting with a saved session and instead start with an empty session — at least, until the bug is fixed.

After making the changes, you must reboot.

Note: This issue has already been reported here at the forum countless times since the most recent Stable Update. Next time, please search the forum for similar threads before posting.
