As of updating to the lts 6.12.11-1-MANJARO kernel i started to notice a strange behaviour on boot, which is someone on fedora has posted pictures of

mod edit - removed screenshots

My pc boots but is stuck for a short bit on the blinking cursor screen.

I currently don’t know what is happening and would gladly provide more logs if needed

Sources for the pictures: No booting and blinking cursor after updating to kernel 6.12.7-200 - Fedora Discussion

Can’t edit my post for some reason so… This blinking cursor screen does not happen when I’m using kernel 6.6.74-1

Hi @Asdling, and welcome!

I know this isn’t your reason for the topic, so this is just an aside. I notices you have locale problems:

So check this and correct that as well:

Then, as to your main question:

In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Please also note and heed: Forum Rules - Manjaro

Hope you manage!

:bangbang: Tip for legibility: :bangbang:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:

~~~
pasted text
~~~

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

:bangbang::bangbang: Additionally

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

Please edit your post accordingly.

Note that the above text is partially pre-prepared as a general introduction for new forum users. Please take the time to follow links given and learn how to create effective support requests and encourage quality responses.

Finding errors

journalctl --priority=warning..crit --no-pager --boot=0

Where:

  • The --priority=warning..err argument limits the output to warnings and errors only;
  • --no-pager formats the output nicely for use here, on the forum;
  • the --boot=0 argument limits the messages to be from the current boot.

More:

Note that the above text is partially pre-prepared as general information for new users. Please take the time to follow the given links and learn more.

Thanks for the information i will try to compile more logs/data about my boot and system information
