0ad crash since last update a27-1

Hello,
I am on stable branch, I have done the last big update including 0ad version “release-a27,8c69b”. The application launch correctly, but every time I launch a game it crash with this in the console:

GAME STARTED, ALL INIT COMPLETE
/usr/include/c++/14.2.1/array:208: constexpr std::array<_Tp, _Nm>::value_type& std::array<_Tp, _Nm>::operator[](size_type) [with _Tp = std::pair<unsigned int, unsigned int>; long unsigned int _Nm = 2; reference = std::pair<unsigned int, unsigned int>&; size_type = long unsigned int]: Assertion '__n < this->size()' failed.
/usr/bin/0ad : ligne 9 : 15951 Abandon                 (core dumped)"$pyrogenesis" "$@"

It happens whatever the map i use, I just started a local match with the default map "acropol’ for infomation.

For Info I’ve tested the version a-27 of 0ad successfully with the appimage version.

My installed version is the a27-1, but it seem that there is a a27-3 available, unfortunately not in stable updates:

Hi @pdemanget, and welcome!

In order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Please also note and heed: Forum Rules - Manjaro

Those with privacy concerns: note that when -z, or --filter is used, all personally identifiable information is filtered out from the resulting inxi output. :eyes:

Hope you manage!

:bangbang: Tip for legibility: :bangbang:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:

~~~
pasted text
~~~

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

:bangbang::bangbang: Additionally

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

Please edit your post accordingly.

Note that the above text is partially pre-prepared as a general introduction for new forum users. Please take the time to follow links given and learn how to create effective support requests and encourage quality responses.

Please note that Manjaro isn’t Arch, and therefore:

This URL isn’t correct as we aren’t Arch. We have our own place yo check packages and compare versions across branches:

https://manjaristas.org/branch_compare

…and according to that, it’s the same. Meaning it will filter down with time, only patience is necessary.

If you really can’t wait, then you might be able to get it installed manually:

  1. Download the unstable branch’s file:
    cd ~/Downloads/
    wget https://mirror.it4i.cz/manjaro/unstable/extra/x86_64/0ad-a27-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst https://mirror.it4i.cz/manjaro/unstable/extra/x86_64/0ad-a27-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst.sig

  2. Install the package manually:
    sudo pacman -U 0ad-a27-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

However, I’m no expert in this and have never done it myself, so there might be extra steps I missed or something. This might also break somewhere, as it’s not been tested, yet.

Thanks a lot for the time you have given.
Here is my inxi result:

Meanwhile, I’ve tested it on another computer and it works! Maybe my nvidia is not compatible with the 0ad a27-1.

I can absolutely wait since I have a workaround. I also tested your technique to force install the a27-3 but it’s not that simple, now I have this error:
/usr/bin/pyrogenesis: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_filesystem.so.1.87.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

As I said it’s not a problem. Do you think we may have the a27-3 on stable?

Yes, but I don’t know when.

Waiting would be best, as you can see from the error you encountered.

According to mbn info the version for Stable is a26-19:

EDIT: I hadn’t updated mbn so the info in this post should be ignored. Only preserved for thread continuity.

It’s an upstream issue:

Switching to Vulkan (in the options) should fix it. Bug has been reported already and fixed upstream. Fix is in the flatpak

Perhaps it’s fixed in the AppImpage as well.

a27-2 and a27-3 were rebuilds on Boost and ICU respectively. There is no difference otherwise.

…a27-1. Always run sudo mbn update before querying the local database. :wink:
