Hi @Dark_iaji,

That doesn’t help much, or even at all. Please see How to provide good information and, if applicable, [HowTo] post screenshots and links.

Also, please post some logs for Yakuake, so that an effort can be made to see what is the matter:

sudo journalctl -p err..alert -f

Do this wile starting yakuake.

NOTE: This can be quite long, but unfortunately I don’t know how to be more specific for Yakuake.

Also, are you able to launch konsole?

Mine is working flawlessly after the latest stable update, for what it’s worth.

Konsol has no faults. In fact, if I don’t update the system, there will be no yakuake related errors in the kernel log.

Well, see the rest of my post and provide the required information, please.

sudo journalctl -b -p err..alert --no-pager > yakuake.log

And yakuake is not working. Even if yakuake is started, it will not appear on my monitor.

Check which shortcut set for Yakuake in “Shortcuts” page of system settings.

I use xbindkeys to map yakuake’s startup command to the mouse button, and KDE hotkeys seem to be of little use to me.

same here, yakuake will not appear when launching it. tried manjaro reset via timeshift 2 times, reinstalled yakuake some times…etc

damn :confused:

Well, I removed yakuake and installed guake. at least it is immediately and properly working. I should have done this right away… :slight_smile:

It’s great to have alternatives, but I still want to use yakuake.

Based on this you have some crash in QKeySequence thus a problem with shortcut it seems? I don’t really know where to look.

This thread mentioned that yakuake has some debugging interfaces, but I don’t know where to get the kde-base-debug package.

When I update these packages, yakuake does not seem to work. Seems to be the problem of deleting these two packages?

It seems to be a problem with the /etc/xdg/yakuakerc configuration file.
The following parameters seem to be required.

[Dialogs]
FirstRun=false

After adding this parameter in the /etc/xdg/yakuakerc configuration file, yakuake seems to work.

It seems that the /etc/xdg/yakuakerc configuration file was modified after the package manjaro-kde-settings was updated, which made yakuake unusable.

So the problem is a dialog asking you to choose a shortcut? That’s interesting indeed…

P.S. Just add

[Dialogs]
FirstRun=false

to ~/.config/yakuakerc to bypass this dialog for current user and then update normally.

In fact, I didn’t see the dialog box. Could this be a bug?
