You don’t need Ubuntu Studio. Just install kdenlive (or whatever video editor you use) on mint via sudo apt install
or manjaro via sudo pacman -S
and you’re good to go
Depending on what menu you mean, except if you’ve explicitly installed something else, perhaps REfind or someting else, Manjaro still uses GRUB. Albeit customized, it’s still GRUB.
This may be the second time. Previously used Linux Mint but it would not install on my new HP Laptop. I am trying out Manjaro KDE which looks good so far. Can’t get my HP Printer to work. I really enjoy the Forum and help from other users.
Greetings! I have been lurking for about a month now and thought it was time to say hello.
I’m Skunkie, a bitter old cyberpunk from the West Coast of the United States. Tech and gaming have been my love affair since I was kid. I actually haven’t been a “full time” Linux user until 2019 when I finally got frustrated enough to just move over and stop complaining. I started with Ubuntu and then moved to Manjaro as of September of this year. It was a happy accident really, was fixing something in a Debian install using the Manjaro live disc I had on hand. And decided to stay! Loving it.
Thank you to the Manjaro Team for making such a clever and friendly distro. And thank you to this amazing community, it has been one of the warmest and most helpful Linux communities I have come across. Was actually a big reason I had decided to test Manjaro in the first place.
Ok, I’ll stop blabbin’. See you around!
Hello everyone I’m a guy who came from Windows, I started with Windows XP, went to 7, tried using Ubuntu when the GUI was still Unity, tried using Lubuntu, and was using Windows 10, but things got so bad that I needed to change the system, and then I started using Manjaro XFCE. I don’t think there’s much to talk about me, I’m a simple guy from the countryside of Brazil
I’m a long time Windows user and work in IT for a small public school district. Our environment consists of some Windows computers, some Windows servers, and a thousand Chromebooks. I’ve dabbled with CentOS servers here for a couple small instances, but started trying to use Linux on my home computer about a year ago by dual booting Manjaro. While most of this time on my home computer has been off and on with Manjaro, I decided to fully commit a few months ago when Proton support was announced for EAC, and I deleted my Windows partition… so now I’m stuck! I feel pretty good about my setup so far, and I’ve learned a lot, but It’s obvious that I still have a long way to go. I’m definitely having a good time, but I wanted to join the forum for a little help figuring out a niche emulator/steam/gamepad issue the Archlinux Wiki didn’t cover. The post is “Using CEMU w/ Steam Link” if you don’t mind checking it out.
Thank you!!
Hello everybody!
I am not new to Linux since I started using it back in 2002, when a friend of mine introduced me on Open Source (and GNU/Linux) world. It was a kind of love at first sight!
From a couple of years I am using Manjaro on my main system, since it is fitting perfectly my needs.
Beside that, I am passionated in electronics, radio and montains!
Greetings from Italy!
Hello from Sri Lanka.
Introduced to linux through distro tube .Long time user of windows I hopped to ubuntu when i couldnt handle bugs in windows(had to restart everytime i wanted to switch wifi) . I wasn’t satisfied with ubuntu. Then came to manjaro . I feel settled here.
I’m Massimiliano from Lucca,Tuscany,Italy.
I’m actually super new to Manjaro, having only installed it about three days ago. I have been using Kubuntu for around 4-5 years, now it’s “time to fly”…
Hi,
Fate brought me here after many years of using different Linux distros. Debian has been my “definite” distro for about 6 years, but I was as wrong as wrong can be to call it my definite. Recently an update left me with a beautiful black screen every time I tried to log in. To be fair I must say that I was using the testing branch because I wanted to have a rolling release distro. This faulty update and the pleasure of having a rolling release was the push I needed to look for another Linux distribution. As I couldn’t find any deb rolling release distribution, I decided to install Manjaro. My first impressions: a wonderful installer, a supportive community and the Manjaro touch in the KDE desktop. I love it. Congrats for the great work. You made me a fan of yours.
Hello guys, I’m pretty new to Linux! I stared with manjaro! I do know this isnt for starters, but I like a little challenge
Nice point of view! I didn’t thought about that before!
This is a sure sign.
You are forever lost.
Welcome!
Hey everyone! I am new to Manjaro. I have always used Debian based OS but wanted to give Arch a try. It certainly is a new feel, I don’t know most of the Konsole commands and it will take some time to learn them all. I find it more easy to learn the OS than this website though haha. I came here to try to get support with my audio card but still haven’t figured out how to post a new thread in the support area. I’ll keep poking around.
Hi, I just change my way to see the software(or try to do it) and for that I come from windows, new install, no vm no nothing, just clean install on my laptop and see how things will work.
Way I did that, because I want to learn linux, and I want to use more command line than my mouse, (some hate will coming…)I hate this mouse
So,it is my pleasure to be here!
Me too
I tried so hard to get them to install manjaro but then stopped doing that as i realized i’m annoying them .
I’ve been off an on using Manjaro as the primary Operating System on my PC for the last year or so now, between Manjaro and Fedora predominately. Honestly though I much prefer the rolling nature of Arch and Manjaro over how updates, and the like happen on Fedora… This is a bit of a first I haven’t actually reached out to any of the community outside of a few Social Media groups about Linux and Linux gaming. Thank you very much Manjaro team for creating the project.
Hi everyone, it’s nice to meet you!
New Manjaro user has entered the chat!
I’ve been dual-booting Manjaro KDE alongside Windows 11 for a week and loving it so far, getting to learn something new entirely!
Using Manjaro is all the more fun and challenging for a Linux beginner like me, with its quirks and mishaps along the way.
And I’m up for the challenge, looking forward to be a part of the community!
