Hi, when running firefox (Manjaro XFCE), sometimes videos will randomly stop playing, and any other videos in other tabs, or even in a dedicated player like smplayer also stop, When pause/play is pressed, the video advances by a single frame before freezing again, without sound.
So far I’ve only been able to reboot to “solve” the issue. This happens infrently (maybe every 2 weeks), and seemingly only when I have a lot of tabs/videos open. I’ve checked things like memeroy usage which has never been maxed out not even 50%)
Any ways to prevent/resolve this next time it happens?

Do you want that now or when the freezing starts?
I’m a bit uncomfortable posting all that information in a public forum, but I’ll see if I can DM it to you. I understand you may be looking for hard/firmware issues, so don’t mind you mentioning a specific part if you think it’s a culprit.

Welcome to Manjaro!
To allow all of us helpful people on this forum TO HELP YOU, we need some basic information about your system. This probably means you described the symptoms of your problem, but now we need some more information to know where the origin of your issue is exactly.
Someone else probably linked you to…

That is why I use the long version when asking for information:
inxi --full --system --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host
will ask for full system info including kernel parameters, but will filter any personally identifiable information (like serial numbers, MAC addresses, …).
Please have a look around the forum: there is no risk in providing this kind of information and people do it all the time. PMing critical information is not something we do here because it will help you, but will not help the next person that has the exact same problem as you (they can compare their output with yours) and that’s the difference between paid consultancy and free help.

Yeah ok, thanks for the gentle rebuke guys. The complete detailing of my system made me uncomfortable but without ID’s/MAC’s I guess that makes sense and I realise I’m a bit out of depth.

Unfortunately, I’m not able to help you any further as I’m on nVidia, not AMD and know little about AMD except their drivers are built into the kernel, so trying out different kernels might help…

Especially since it is XFCE … check with the compositor turned off.
