Hi @f0restend, and welcome!

Try as I might, my telepathy couldn’t devine your problem, so I’m sure the other’s won’t be able to automagically know what’s wrong, either.

So in order for us, or anyone for that matter, to be able to provide assistance, more information is necessary. To that end, please see:

Hope you manage!

Tip:

To provide terminal output, copy the text you wish to share, and paste it here, surrounded by three (3) backticks, a.k.a grave accents. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Portaest sed
elementum
cursus nisl nisi
hendrerit ac quis
sit
adipiscing
tortor sit leo commodo.

Instead of like this:

Portaest sed elementum cursus nisl nisi hendrerit ac quis sit adipiscing tortor sit leo commodo.

Thereby improving legibility and making it much easier for those trying to be of assistance.

Please edit your post accordingly.

There are some lines of messages before that, which describe what went wrong.
Also:
did you try (one by one) both of the options that where suggested in the message you posted:

To continue, enter the root password or press ctrl +d

?

Welcome to the forum!

That is the console prompt you get to see when the system switches to single-user maintenance mode, also known as “runlevel 1” in non-systemd distributions. systemd calls it rescue.target and will normally never take you there unless you’ve messed up something — the default systemd “runlevel” is multi-user.target.

So, what have you been messing with? :stuck_out_tongue:
