I was doing something with nvidia, but when i installed optimus manager steam games does not appear to launch, uninstalling doesn’t work, neither does answers to related questions. Although steam marks it as running

the thing i was doing was trying to make steam games use my nvidia gpu and someone on a forum post said to install optimus manager, looking back im not sure if i was using the nvidia or not with steam, but now i cant launch steam games.

but I will say again
I was trying to get steam games to use my nvidia driver, and multiple forum posts suggested installing optimus manager.
There is one thing only to do to use the Nvidia card on an hybrid laptop in Manjaro (of course if you have installed Manjaro’s hybrid profile/driver in MHWD), add the startup option prime-run %command% in the launch option in your game properties in Steam, as outlined in the various posts and articles about it everywhere.
Delete (or rename for backup) the Proton prefix for this game, located at ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/{APP_ID}/ where {APP_ID} is the Steam application ID (find it in the store page URL for the game, or in ProtonDB site, or in SteamDB site, and so on…)
Select the Proton 7.0 version in Steam Settings globally (not the Experimental, not an external one), and do not force another Proton version in the game Properties → Compatibility tab
Make sure you have the system and video drivers up to date
Add the proper launch option in the game properties to use Nviia card, so the prefix is initialized with the Nvidia card used, like you eventually want to achieve
Reboot (to discard issues which would have been solve by rebooting), and test
