[Stable Update] 2025-05-14 - Kernels, Firefox, Thunderbird, Mesa, Plasma, LibreOffice, QEMU

Is it okay that I just got an update from an test branch (I guess) when I’m on the stable branch? Or is it just that there is no forum post with the new update yet?

All branches seem to be the same right now?
I installed it anyway, because I wanted the new kio, but something seems odd.

Yep, I have the timeshift one — but I prefer to have a package installed than copy the odd .so file around. Now, If there were a simple(r) answer to this old question, that would be nice…

Same here. Waiting for the post to upgrade.
Among others, there are

dolphin 25.04.0-2 -> 25.04.1-1
kded 6.13.0-1 -> 6.14.0-1
linux614-headers 6.14.6-1 -> 6.14.6-2
linux614-nvidia 570.144-11 -> 570.144-12

I downloaded this Release Update from 05/14 few days ago already.

But today a new secret (without announcement) stable update released?
It shows 197 packages ready to download

Someone knowns whats going on?

The potential risk of installing a package that provides an old library is that at some time in the future that package might get updated and you end up losing the library again.
I’ve had the odd un-updatable program where it suddenly stopped working because of an update. I can be confident that by copying the relevant library version from my backups I’ll always have it.

Busy with Computex, hence had no time to write announcement yet?

That’s good. However, I never update Manjaro until I see the votes.

If it’s from the AUR, then you may need to rebuild it after updating. :point_down:

pamac build $(pacman -Qmq | grep nvidia)
