Naming the file 100 does not what you think it does. Use the 99 file.

Just got the update - Iā€™m running i3wm.
I havenā€™t gotten around to looking into why, but basically my terminal fonts are broken (they were fine pre-update).
Iosevka font, on urxvt.
Shell is zsh 5.9. I have the power10k decorations. The symbols also show as rectangles. The writing is spaced out x2 horizontally. Affects ranger, ncspot, anything that runs in terminal. Just thought someone would like to knowā€¦

Screenshot of .Xresources

Solved it. Something as simple as replacing ā€˜Iosevkaā€™ with ā€˜Iosevka Nerd Font Monoā€™. Most glyphs work with this, but some donā€™tā€¦

Hi! I may not have a solution for you, but there were changes that affected sleep behavior for AMD laptops introduced in 6.1. Essentially, a lot of the laptops shipped with only a Windows GUID, not AMD, so they couldnā€™t wake from sleep. This would be fixed by S3 sleep, but that was deprecated in Windows so many new laptops donā€™t have it.

Your ThinkPad, I believe, is an exception in that it has specific sleep options in BIOS. I might be wrong, but if thatā€™s the case then Iā€™d try that first. If you look up the issue I described, you will see that you can add a couple kernel parameters to make Linux use Windows GUID. That fix wasnā€™t for your specific problem (since your system doesnā€™t totally freeze), but it feels like too much of a coincidence that they fixed an AMD laptop GPU sleep issue in 6.1, and now youā€™re having a problem with the same. Good luck!

Can confirm.

Other Bug Reports are here and here.

Most likely due to a bug in OpenCV-4.7.0.

Recommended action at the moment is to use DigiKam AppImage which uses OpenCV-4.6.0 and runs fine.

Pleas3 have a look at:

I can confirm that i also had to revert it to java 19

sudo archlinux-java set java-XX-openjd...

Hi sanderseo, could you please give me a link to the issue you mentioned?

Hi,

Thanks everyone for the update.

Iā€™ve got an issue. When I start gnome (didnā€™t try with other desktops) with Xorg, gnome crashes and I get back to login screen. With Wayland, the issue does not happen. The issue happens either if I set Xorg in /etc/gdm/custom.conf or if I choose Gnome on Xorg from login screen

Here the logs I got from journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-shell after having set the option in /etc/gdm/custom.conf:

Hi, For the last few hours (after the update) Iā€™m trying to fix what might be a gdm or a gnome issues.
for some reason Iā€™m not getting the Wayland session option (only x11, named gnome and classic).
any and all help is appreciated.

5 posts were split to a new topic: Installing electron (22.0.3-1) breaks dependency ā€˜electron20ā€™ required by tradingview-bin

Todayā€™s release gave me this dependency issue:

Warning: installing nvidia-utils (525.85.05-1) breaks dependency 'nvidia-utils=525.60.11' required by linux519-nvidia
Add linux519-nvidia to remove

linux519 is long EOL - remove that kernel (and switch to a newer one if that is your only kernel) before the update.

Error during update:

[2023-01-26T00:48:38-0800] [ALPM] error: could not extract /usr/share/locale/el/LC_MESSAGES/vlc.mo (Write failed)
[2023-01-26T00:48:38-0800] [ALPM] error: could not extract /usr/share/locale/en_GB/LC_MESSAGES/vlc.mo (Write failed)

Seems your disk is full.

Hello Forum. After the recent update I cannot login anymore. I am using i3wm with lightdm. Every time I try to login I am redirected to the login screen. Anyone else facing this issue? Any ideas for a fix? Thanks, z0id

Edit:
Fix: It turned out to be a known lightdm issue (ā€œInfinite Login Loopā€). According to the ArchWiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/LightDM#Troubleshooting), running

rm ~/.Xauthority

solved the problem.

Just reimaged back to k5.15.84-1 and noted system partition had 15 GB free.

Upgraded to k5.15.89-1 then deleted contents of /var/cache/pacman/pkg/

Now have 8.7 GB free space.

What is taking-up all that space?

Is there any other storage that can be deleted?

Iā€™m probably the only person this will affect, but Iā€™ll mention it just on the offchance that someone else has the problem.
Using photomatix (from AUR) I found that after this update it crashed due to not being able to find libtiff.so.5, since this has been upgraded to libtiff.so.6. Rebuilding the package didnā€™t help, but simply symlinking libtiff.so to libtiff.so.5 solved the problem (I havenā€™t seen any incompatibilities yet).

Thanks, I did not realize I was on an EOL kernel

Which filesystem? I just had fun learning about BTRFS - with my 50GiB home partition, 130GiB total root and home - but 250GiB disk full.
