Sollte diese Platte in den Müll oder reicht es sie zu formatieren?

Hallo!
Ich habe eine Externe 4TB Festplatte die seltsame Geräusche machte und ich daraufhin eine neue 4TB Festplatte besorgte und nun alle Daten rüberkopiere.

Nun habe ich mit gsmart folgende Logs gefunden :

Auch bekomme ich beim Sichern die Meldung das ich 167GB zu wenig Platz hätte - obwohl beide Platten gleich groß sind?

Reicht es wenn ich anschließend die Platte neu formatiere oder sollte ich sie entsorgen?

Schon der erste Wert ist besorgniserregend:

Naja, wahrscheinlich bist du gerade über die differenz im TiB vs. TB System gestollpert. 4tib - Wolfram|Alpha

Ich weiss nicht wie du sicherst, aber falls du es mit dd machst, dann solltest du die dateien einzeln kopieren. Oder irgend ein Program, das Hardlinks (falls du das hast) überträgt.
Sonst ist wirklich die neue Platte kleiner als die alte Platte…

Einmal komplett mit mit dd beschreiben. Wenn die Platte die defekten Sektoren ausmapt und keine weiteren mehr dazu kommen, weiterbenutzen.

Backup-Platte ist ja jetzt vorhanden.

Danke für den Tip. Aber ich habe mich nun entschlossen die defekte Platte auszumustern - das erscheint mir sicherer.
