On your end.
I can’t reproduce neither in VM install, and i never had such issues on my native install.
Random reports also got into being not conclusive enough
I’m currently facing a mildly annoying issue, where each time I open a new Dolphin window, it starts up small, only showing 2 columns and 5 rows.
I tried setting up Window Rules for dolphin mutliple times in multiple ways, however they never seem to actually have any effect on Dolphin.
I’d appreciate any help on this issue!
Hello,
I have an annoying issue with kde plasma apps (specifically terminal, kate editor, dolphin, settings manager etc) not remembering their size and position when I close them with my secondary monitor attached.
They reopen in really small windows and their positions can be random including off screen (I have to right click the app icon on taskbar > more actions > move in order to drag then back on screen).
Everytime I reopen them I always have to move and resize them, it does not matter …
Others have a clear explanation:
I’ve the layout with the task manager in my KDE desktop.
I’d like that everytime I open a windows from the task manager it’s maximized.
I tried to setup a new windows rule in this way:
Window class → exact match
match whole window class → no
windows type → all selected
maximize hor e vert —> apply initially and yes
but It doesn’t work.
I’d also like to reduce the dimensions of my task manager I’d like smaller descriptions for the application that are open.
I’ll attach my desktop for bet…
Hey @michaldybczak
see below:
One way to keep LO calc files at a respectable window size is to resize them - but not maximize them - before closing the window.
Older discussion with some hints:
To do that today:
right-click the window title
Click More Actions
Click Configure Special Application Settings (if you want to do this per application)
Click Add Properties like the diagonal arrow below
Set the settings you want to set and how / what you want them to be as per the horizontal arrows below

Click OK
Done!
