New kernel missing in Grub

Hi guys,
I installed the latest big update yesterday and it offered me later a new kernel - 6.10.0-1. The Manjaro Settings Manager/Kernel says it’s installed, I have updated Grub but there are only two kernels available 6.6 and 6.9 on boot. Any hints?? THX

Hi @pepe999,

Please provide the output of:

awk -F\' '/menuentry / {print $2}' /boot/grub/grub.cfg

also of

ls -lah /boot/

and

mhwd-kernel --listinstalled

:bangbang: Tip :bangbang:

When posting terminal output, copy the output and paste it here, wrapped in three (3) backticks, before AND after the pasted text. Like this:

```
pasted text
```

Or three (3) tilde signs, like this:

~~~
pasted text
~~~

This will just cause it to be rendered like this:

Sed
sollicitudin dolor
eget nisl elit id
condimentum
arcu erat varius
cursus sem quis eros.

Instead of like this:

Sed sollicitudin dolor eget nisl elit id condimentum arcu erat varius cursus sem quis eros.

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

Thereby increasing legibility thus making it easier for those trying to provide assistance.

For more information, please see:

:bangbang::bangbang: Additionally

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

The following kernels are installed in your system:

  • linux610
  • linux66
  • linux69

So, it’s there. It would seem you just have to boot into it. See this for help with that:

Yes it is so that’s why I asked here. The Grub just doesn’t show it.

Then it seems Grub just haven’t been reinstalled. Try the following:

  • Run:
    sudo grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=manjaro --recheck COPY TO CLIPBOARD

Followed by rebooting and seeing if it worked, if there were no errors.

Alternatively, and this is easier:

  1. install the install-grub package:

    pamac install install-grub

  2. Run it to update grub:

    sudo install-grub

Reboot and see if it worked.

Hope this helps!

Sorry, it’s been fixed. I use Grub from a Manjaro KDE install on a different drive so it’s up to date now. Completely forgot about it. I don’t use the KDE system because I was trying to get the Wayland working with nVidia. Plasmax11 boots ok but plasmawayland is just back screen.
Thanks anyway!!
