Manjaro Gaming Edition Slimbook Hero

I have been looking to purchase the Manjaro Slimbook Hero. And discover the version of Manjaro that it comes with is the Gaming Edition. I was looking to test it out or find info about the gaming version but all I could find was the unofficial version that is a few years old. I also couldn’t find what DE the gaming edition has if any. I just like to test the Gaming version of Manjaro before I purchase the laptop.

Hi @aadanm thx for sharing your interest in the Slimbook Hero. I’m using this device as my development machine and it is a great laptop.

This device ships with a modified Manjaro Plasma version and has additionally device specific and gaming related packages installed. Since we removed MHWD that image most likely only works with devices it is designed for.

So how to test it? Well, you can get the regular Manjaro Plasma Edition and install the following packages to get a similar experience:

Modified KDE how? Aren’t nvidia drivers sometimes buggy or don’t work well on Linux? Compared to AMD?

Im actually doing pretty good with my nvidia 2080TI on Linux for 4 year’s now as a gamer.

I only had 2 times problem’s where i had to help myself with work arounds, but besides this.

My experience was amazing about Manjaro/KDE when it comes to performance and stability around the desktop and gaming.

What about more recent Nvidia GPUs or drivers? Like the rtx 30 or 40 series of GPUs. What were the two problems you faced? Like the Gpu in the Slimbook Hero,

Bash Script won't load on Start

I have a little bash script in Auto Start, that should load my Colour-Profile for my nvidia card: #!/bin/bash sleep 5 /usr/bin/nvidia-settings -l Its in this directory: /home/koboldx/.config/autostart-scripts/nvidia.sh I also select under Properties>Permission: Executable [Autostart Script] With a manually double click on my .sh file, my script just works but its somehow ignored when i put it in Autostart.

How can i disable G-Sync on my Nvidia GPU?

I have a Dell 144Hz G-Sync Monitor and i want to disable this feature, but xserver only gives me this option for OpenGL. Is there a file, to disable G-Sync in Direct3D (or in general) games? Nvidia Dithering mode no longer working after the nvidia 5.20 driver update (from today release)

My Dell Monitor got heavy Colour Banding/Gradient problems and i can only fix it with the Dithering Filter on Enable and Temporal Dither. After i downloaded a few packeges (including some nvidia stuff) that showed up and just released today in pamac (stable) the Dithering mode no longer works, but in the nvidia GUI the filters still showed enabled status… i don’t get it. What can i do to revert this changes? I really need this Temporal Dithering filter for my Monitor, the colours looks awfull…
