LiveUsb session keeps restarting after login

,

Hello, I created a bootable drive for the i3 edition and whenever I get the Manjaro hello window, the session restarts. Before creating the bootable, I had no problem installing the manjaro gnome edition. And i3 In VirtualBox. Can’t get past this to start the installation. Laptop: HP Probook 650 G1.

How do I continue to install manjaro-i3 without being logged out of the live USB session?

Check that the ISO file was correctly written to the USB.

It is, I tried it on my friends laptop and on my desktop and it works fine. Just not on my laptop. the session keeps restarting and logging me out

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and press the three dots below your post and press the :pencil2: to give us more information so we can see what’s really going on.
Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…
  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information for us to be able to help you. (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

:+1:

P.S. If you want to notify me that you did provide this information, please  this message and I’ll come back and have another look.
P.P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which exact CPU/GPU or Kernel, … you have without typing it every time

I can’t get past to the main screen to use the terminal as the session quickly restarts after login.

I face the same issue as you

  • You can’t even get to a TTY? (Ctrl+Alt+F2 on KDE, don’t know which one of the function keys it is on i3)
  • If not you’ll have to manjaro-chroot

@unicorn instead of writing the comment you wrote, you can also click on the Tracking button on the bottom of this conversation and on the  of the original post: that way everyone knows how many people are impacted by the same issue without everyone having to write about it.

I have done as you asked in the second instruction, what do I do next?

You do the bit you couldn’t do before… (We need more information to help you)

:+1:

Thank you for your time and support. I don’t know why that was happening. However, I downloaded an LTS version of manjaro-i3 and I was able to get it installed.

However, if you disagree with my choice, please feel free to take any other answer as the solution to your question or even remove the solution altogether: You are in control! (If you disagree with my choice, just send me a personal message and explain why I shouldn’t have done this or  or :+1: if you agree)

P.S. In the future, please don’t forget to come back to your question after your issue has been solved and click the 3 dots below the answer to mark a solution like this below the answer that helped you most:
