Hello.
Im Anthony and have been an Ubuntu / Mint user for 10 years and without so much as a single criticism of the respectable Mint, Im giving manjaro a go to see what all the hype is about. Great so far! I love everything about Linux except my issue with the Kernel.
No matter what distro, everything starts off ok until the updates to the new kernel which knocks out my mousepad buttons every time.
Does anyone know how I can upgrade the kernel without the mousepad getting hit?
Sys Info: Processor: 4 x Intel@ Core i5 2540M CPU @ 2.60 GHz.
Memory: 12G
Graphics: MESA DRI Intel@ HD Graphics 3000
Working Kernel in use: 5.13. 19 -2 (Manjaro 64bit)
Also installed previous LTS Kernel.
If I run the pending upgrade, I’ll be dead in the water with no functioning mouse after a few minutes of running (If at all)
I really have tried to solve this myself but to no avail. Any and all help would be appreciated.
I looked at that but I’m sorry, it’s just too damned complicated, Exportlang thingy yields nothing in the terminal.
I put my system info in the question. If I cant get an answer because I dont understrand the advanced techno hoops you want me to jump through then so be it.
It wont let me post the output because one cant post links. I looked through for links, couldnt find any. Copied it to a document, this thing refuses to upload that too. Basically, this support forum is preventing me from getting the info you need to you.

I don’t see any obvious issue, though i am no touchpad expert.
When you mentioned a pending kernel upgrade, did you mean the suggestion to install following kernels (5.14 and 5.15 currently)?
If you have trouble with new kernels, you can stay on a LTS kernel (4.10 is the current latest). Those are supported a lot longer than the other kernels.
