KDE popup is not displayed when any USB stick is plugged for the second time

Hi everyone,

today I noticed, KDE popup of “Disks & Device” does not open automatically when any USB stick is plugged into my computer for second time. But it works fine with the first time USB plugging into PC after reboot.

I see there is no error in log.
lsusb and lsblk show my USB is present and KDE Dolphin shows it too, but only KDE popup “Disks & Device” Widget does not show it.

Can you check it if you also have the same issue with the latest stable branch of Manjaro?

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Your USB stick plugged into your computer.
2. KDE popup shows automatically, then remove USB from your computer.
3. Again the same USB stick or other USB stick plugged into your computer, if KDE popup works?

It is a kde bug: 438874 – Disk & Devices applet doesn't show USB removable devices and SD cards after disconnecting and re-connecting them

I don’t know what original thread you’re referring to but if upstream has fixed the bug in a release yet to come - I can understand why the thread might have been marked as “solved”. Anyways - if you feel adventurous, you can try building a patched package yourself. As luck has it, there are pretty detailed instructions for arch (manjaro is close enough) just for this case to be found here.
