KDE Pim data exporter - no output file

Hi

Using Manjaro stable updated to latest (as of 02/06/23),

Tried using KDE Pim Data Exporter (version 23.04) to export settings but despite being told the process is successful the output file actually is not there / don’t exist. The export process does not return any errors but the file is not there.

I just wanted to check if this is happening with other people?

Alternatively, paste the text you wish to format as terminal output, select all pasted text, and click the </> button on the taskbar. This will indent the whole pasted section with one TAB, causing it to render the same way as described above.

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

Phew, what a mouthful! I’ve never even heard of PIM data exporter, but the first thing I can think of is check your permission. It might be that it doesn’t have permission to write where it’s trying to export it to.

Next thing that comes to mind, check the logs:

journalctl --grep='pim\|PIM'

This should search your logs for any mention of PIM, both upper- and lowercase.

This isn’t a cellphone and txt speek is hard to decipher, never mind that it’s completely uneccessary. Please don’t use unofficial abbbrevi8ations.

Thanks, I have edited the main post to add more information. KDE PIM Data Exporter is part of the KDE PIM suite to export settings for the applications.

No error is returned during the export process, The file was being exported to my home directory.
journalctl command did not show any reference to PIM.
