Elantech Touchpad Not Working Acer Aspire

I have an Aspire A715-72G, latest BIOS running Manjaro GNOME with kernel 5.16.5-1. GNOME did something strange where it wouldn’t boot into the desktop, so I had to reinstall Manjaro. Since that happened, my trackpad will not work. Checked the trackpad setting in GNOME and its’ turned on. I went into BIOS and set the trackpad setting from “advanced” to “basic” but that didn’t solve the problem. The trackpad shows up under libinput, but does not function.

I tried booting into Manjaro using a USB stick and the trackpad still does not work. It was working fine a few days ago, before GNOME wouldn’t boot. Not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to increase your chances of solving your issue:

Please provide Information:

You can try booting an older (or newer) kernel. You can use Manjaro Settings Manager from the menu to install kernels and check which one is running. Hold Shift during boot to choose which kernel to boot.
