Can’t save any downloaded files on my USB Manjaro boot-stick; they disappear upon reboot/shutdown. Also concerned that updates/installs aren’t being saved either. Is this standard for USB Manjaro? Thanks.
The ISOs are using Live System, meaning are not meant to have permanent storage except that system. If you want portable USB Manjaro, follow this:

I am a Manjaro Xfce user that always wanted a persistent “live” version of the system on a USB drive that could be booted on ANY system.
I tried the Persistent USB Release using ALMA but ran into a few problems with it. For example it would block the WiFi adapter on my laptop.
So I tried a simpler DIY approach which appears to be working. At least, it works on all the 7 computers that I have access to.

If you would like to create a - sort of - no-trace-system - you can use ventoy - with a storage partition (encrypted if necessary).
