Cannot open Dolphin by GUI or terminal after update today

I installed the latest update today. Now I can’t open desktop folders or even open Dolphin in the terminal.

$ dolphin
dolphin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libdolphinprivate.so.6: undefined symbol: _ZN11KIconEffect8toActiveER7QPixmape here

I just updated my system and was not able to log in. I was getting the same issue as reported in KDE could not find theme after update I was able to fix it by downgrading kio to 5.82.0-1 from 5.84.0-1. I was able to log in after that. However, after that I am unable to open Dolphin. When I try to open dolphin from terminal I see, dolphin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libKF5NewStuffCore.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZNK6Attica8Metadata7headersEv Could someone help me fix this?

Thanks Midarthos, I removed everything git but still no go with Dolphin. I have installed Thunar until a solution appears.

From the name of the undefined symbol,

_ZN11KIconEffect8toActiveER7QPixmape

with some imagination I would speculate that something is calling something related to icons and applying effects
which could point to some extension or theme that is incompatible.

Perhaps resetting to the default theme and default icons will help?
… if you even changed anything there.

It’s just speculation.

Anything from AUR is possibly guilty.
