Black Bars at top and bottom of screen

Hello Manjaro Newbie here.

I have these two solid black bars at the top and bottom of my laptop screen that appeared today.

The mouse cursor cannot go in these areas. This issue doesn’t affect any other secondary screen i plug in through the HDMI port.

I also don’t have this issue on start-up displays it only appears instant after I log in.

I tried changing the display resolution and zoom as suggested in a different post. I also tried plugging and unplugging a secondary screen as well as playing with Display positions. No luck.

I would like to recover the full screen real estate, does anyone know how ?
Thks in advance for any help.

Hi @Hellunteur and welcome to the Manjaro community.

Please refrain from posting screenshots; a simple text explanation is sufficient.

In simple terms: your resolution is set to a 16:9 aspect, whereas you need to use 16:10.
