Xorg session disappeared after update

I might as well say at once that I am not sure about this.

I think up until some time ago (mabe up unitl the major update of three days ago), I was running Gnome on xorg, and had Wayland installed but unused. I also observe that I now only have Gnome on Wayland and Gnome Classic available before logging in (that much is certain).

So it seems the update has removed my xorg session and defaulted me to Wayland……? This sounds crazy even to me who doesn’t know much, but the thing is, I’ve been experiencing unusual slowness and lagging when jumping workspaces, and navigating my browser with keyboard shortcuts. I’ve had the feeling frames and top bar proportion have slightly changed too, and some display-related things (such as previewing images in ranger) have stopped working from one day to the next without any change to configuration.

Please help me figure out if I’m crazy and have always been on Wayland for the past one and a half year, or if I’m right. I hope there’s a simple way to find out…

Infinite thanks.
