Xorg can't find screens after update

I recently updated and had to reboot and now I’m getting a blank screen with a blinking cursor. I tried to search the issue on this forum however I can’t seem to find a post with similar issues where the solutions worked.
I removed the free nvidia driver and installed the proprietary driver via:

sudo mhwd -i pci video-nvidia

I also made sure I removed the free version by:

sudo mhwd -r pci video-linux

I rebooted and I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor on the upper left of the screen.
I checked if the driver was loading and I ran this command to confirm:

Using the free driver does show a login screen but I can not use my GPUs (I use them to render on blender 3D.) I’m not sure how to debug the issue with xorg, any ideas ?

Welcome to the Manjaro Community!

Although I may not be able to help in this case (not an Nvidia user) a bit more system info may be useful: inxi -zv8.

I guess you’ve already tried Wayland?

Hi, thank you for your response.

As for Wayland, This is what I get when I run:

 sudo pacman -Q wayland
wayland 1.23.0-1

However I have read that Wayland doesn’t play nice with Nvidia GPUs.
Everything worked great before, even most windows games were running on my desktop so I’d like to keep it with what it was before the update.
Thank you in advance for any help!
P.S. I just ran this command:

sudo mhwd -l -d

and got this output:

Warning: no configs for USB devices found!`

Anything to glean from there?

I have only read about Nvidia, don’t have one myself.
What I often see is that a parameter is needed in the Grub configuration
something about modeset=1

If you read a few pertinent topics here you will likely come across it.

Here it is in the Arch wiki.
1.3 DRM kernel mode setting

As I said, I have zero personal experience with this.

Remove thirdparty applications and verify the issue before asking for help.

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/thinlinc-server

ThinLinc is a likely cause as it may not be compatible with the update and needs to be rebuilt.
