Wifi consuming half of my battery

I tried using my laptop without networking enabled and i have got twice as much battery life.

I mean i have only 2x25wh battery, that is about 2-3 hour but without wifi it was 4-6 hours. (according to powertop)

It not seems like that drastic, but sometimes it consumes 4-5watts.

I would like to upload the powertop html file.

please, this is nothing we can deal with, the minimum should be the information linked below.

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    [HowTo] Provide System Information
and press the three dots below your post and press the :pencil2: to give us more information so we can see what’s really going on.
Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…
  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information for us to be able to help you. (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

Is that bad?

no, why ? the lspci command will display all devices that are internal soldered at the mainboard, whereas the lsusb command displays all external devices that are connected to the usb-bus.

may you post the output of

lsmod | grep '^iwl.vm'

that should also display what power-scheme is used for your wifi

I tought that these commands do these, but the i dont understand why you send the arch forum page to me. I haven’t found anything that could be helpful.
Or am i looking somewhere else?

[i3hunor@HunorT480 ~]$ lsmod | grep '^iwl.vm'
iwlmvm 503808 0

manjaro is arch-related. everything that’s valid for arch in general is also valid for manjaro (at least it should)

Yeah, i know that.
But i haven’t found anything useful

your e1000e adapter is well supported. you can play with some settings of the power consumption of the wifi-adapter but be aware, the efficiency will drop down, latency will rise etc…
a peak of 4-5 Watts shouldn’t be that high. several settings will cause the wifi to get faster to standby, suspend but it will affect the response in negative.
