Wifi and bluetooth no longer working with xfce

Hello, both my wifi and my bluetooth used to work. For bluetooth I have tried the unblock command and the systemctl start/enable commands are not returning errors.

I tried downgrading kernel it doesn’t change anything. When left clicking connections there is not the available wifi networks like there used to be and with command line I get “No Wi-Fi device found”

Hey @MathWellan

What show the kernel log?

sudo dmesg | grep "iwlwifi"

Hello ! It returns nothing. Do you think switching DE might help or not at all ?

Thank you for your interest

Hi @MathWellan ,

I wonder whether you could read the following post:
Qualcomm Atheros QCA8171 Gigabit Ethernet
and also the information about the github:
GitHub - linuxhw/Trends: Trends in Hardware

They both pointed out that they are few hardware compatibility for this wifi driver on Linux distros.

Please, consider to buy a compatible USB wifi adapter.

Regards

About your first link I think the Qualcomm is for ethernet while my wifi device seems to be the Intel

Wifi not working on fresh manjaro installation either. I then installed windows to be sure and wifi works with it but my graphic card doesn’t work with windows and as a programmer I prefer linux so if anyone has another idea I would appreciate

…when on windows atm it might be a good idea to update bios and firmware ?
