Wie kann ich die Auflösung des Bildschirms ändern, durch Eingabe eigener Werte

Hallo!
Mein Bildschirm hat eine Auflösung von 1600x900 doch im Treiber kann ich, mit lxrandr, nur bis 1280x768 einstellen. Wie kann ich die 1600 x 900 so eingeben das er auch diese Auflösung darstellt.

Obwohl ich mit sowas keine Erfahrung habe, denn ich habe nur einen Laptop und keinen zweiten externen Monitor, fange ich mal an zu versuche etwas Licht ins Dunkel zu bringen.
lxrandr kann man zwar sicher benutzen - ich habe abe kein lxqt Zeugs installiert.

Also nehme ich das zugrundliegende Kommandozeilen Programm:

Die minimale, die maximale und die derzeitige Auflösung ist hier gelistet.
Das ist, was mein Display kann.

Was meine Grafikkarte (bzw. deren Treiber) kann zeigt mir dieses Kommando offenbar nicht.
Eventuell ist es aber das, was als maximum 32767 x 32767
Weiß ich nicht.

Das ist die momentane Grenze meiner Kenntnisse - vielleicht hilft’s ja weiter.

Es wäre vielleicht hilfreich (für andere
wenn Du diese Daten für Deinen Bildschirm liefern könntest.

1280x768 ist 5:3
1600x900 ist 16:9

Klingt ein wenig nach Notebook.
Kann es sein das die Hz zu hoch ist ?
Viele schaffen die maximale Auflösung nicht mit der maximalen Wiederholrate.

Ich glaube wenn ich Probleme damit hätte
würde ich das hier versuchen

und hoffen, daß angeschlossene Monitore damit/dadurch automatisch optimal angesteuert werden.
Probieren / verifizieren kann ich da gar nichts - ich habe keinen externen Monitor.

Ich richte meinen Bildschirm immer über

sudo nvidia-settings

über die Konsole ein. Zum Schluss noch “Speichern in X Konfiguration”.
Oder läuft dein Nvidia-treiber noch immer nicht ?

Es kann aber auch sein, dass deine Grafikkarte so eine hohe Auflösung nicht unterstützt.
Ältere Laptops haben oft eher eine spärliche Ausstattung, und alles über 1280 war da noch ferne Zukunft.

Anscheinend habe ich mit meinen Postings für Verwirrung gesorgt, daher fasse ich nochmal zusammen.

Ich habe einen älteren Laptop ( F70SL Pro76S ) mit einer Bildschirmauflösung von 1600x900 und der Treiber gibt nur 1280x768 her:

Ich möchte diesen Bildschirm gern mit der vollen Auflösung betreiben.
Die Grafikkarte ist eine Nvidia Geforce 9300 GS die mit einem offenen Treiber angesprochen wird.

Leider konnte ich nichts zu der Maximalen Auflösung finden. Allerdings sollte sie den Bildschirm schon in voller Auflösung unterstützen.

Also am Treiber liegt es nicht.
Was mir auffällt ist, du hast eine Webcam. Ist zufällig deren maximale Auflösung 1280x768 ?
Es könnte sein das die das begrenzt. Du könntest die ja mal abschalten. Testweise

Mmm. Eigentlich habe ich mit den 2 Links gemeint, das Lxrandr weniger Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten hat als xrandr.
Und auf der Wiki Seite von xrandr steht auch unter testing configuration wie man den entsprechenden Bildschirm mit der gewünschten Auflösung zum Test ansteuert.

Weiter unten steht dann, wie man nicht-erkannte Auflösungen hinzufügen kann.

Mit Nvidia-settings sollte es zumindest soweit gehen, dass man den Bildschirm direkt auswählt und die Auflösungen setzt. Die Treiber sind normal gut genug, dass sie wissen, was deine Karte kann. Und ja, deine Karte sollte das leicht schaffen.

öffne mal eine konsole und starte ‘sudo nvidia-settings’ und schau was unter “x server display configuration” angezeigt wird und ob du es ggf. da ändern kannst.

Wie erwartet kam :

schließlich läuft der Offene Treiber und nicht der von Nvidia.

Was seltsam ist, dass kein Treiber erwähnt wird:

Aber ich denke es läuft im KMS Betrieb.

EDIT: Moment mal, warum läuft deine Karte mit vesa und nicht mit nouveau?

Entferne den vesa Treiber wieder und installiere video-linux

sudo mhwd -r pci video-vesa
sudo mhwd -i pci video-linux

Dann ohne -f, das wird wohl einfacher sein für dich:

Ich habe es denn verschiedene male versucht, auch mit dem manjaro-settings-manager doch es ist immer dasselbe Ergebnis.
Entweder funktioniert der Treiber nicht mit der Karte oder er wird nicht richtig eingebunden. Jedenfalls ist es ziemlich frustrierend.

Sobald der video-vesa Treiber installiert ist läuft es wieder - sehr seltsam.

Ohne eine Xorg log, wo es nicht funktioniert, kann man auch nur rätseln.
