When will Plasma 6.3 be delivered?

my system is currently on Plasma 6.2.5 and i am curious when Plasma 6.3 will be rolled out in Manjaro?

Welcome to the Forum!

Plasma 6.3 is currently only in Unstable Branch at present; it should filter down in a few weeks or so.

If you wish to use the very latest version now, you will need to switch to that. :wink:

Switch to Manjaro Edge (unstable)

Plasma 6.3 was sync’ed to unstable 2025-02-11T23:00:00Z

I am likely a loner when it comes to Manjaro and Plasma stability - it rarely pose any issues. But that is just me … :man_shrugging:

I understand that Plasma 6.3 is expected to reach the Manjaro Stable branch in mid-March coinciding with the release of the Manjaro 25.0 stable installer ISO’s (for official editions).

This was noted in the first paragraph of the Stable Update 2025-02-04 announcement thread:

Plasma 6.3 is in Unstable and now (as of today) Testing.

You might see it with the next big update; in other words it’s not far off but it’s “ready when it’s ready”. :wink:

That’s just you - if you don’t abuse it, and you don’t have any unfortunate configurations, then it’s brilliant.

I abuse it, and have unfortunate configurations, so it’s slightly riskier for me:

  • Klassy (AUR)
  • Easystroke (AUR)
  • Diigital clock colours need manual editing /usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock/contents/ui/DigitalClock.qml merging with my edited version (backed up as DigitalClock.colours.qml)

Unstable and Testing already… waiting for Stable.

Same. KDE rarely causes issues.

6.3 I want more than most other revs as it fixes the joystick issues as of late. If you hook up a non-gamepad controller (ie A real joystick), it won’t show in KDE game controller. 6.3 fixes that issue that 6.x brought with it. All this used to work fine in 5.x.

And yes I run Stable. Works fine for gaming. Just this one issue…
