I’m on unstable branch and apparently saw something similar:

There is something not quite right with pacman atm. It showed weirdly high numbers for packages to upgrade overall and also for bytes to download overall. Both were ridiculusly high - it looked like some integer underflow to me. Incorrect package total package count, sizes and speed when retrieving...

I am also on unstable, I had put up a pic of the same issue. When I ran sudo pacman -Syu, even though my updates seems to have gone fine, the total number of packages shown during the downloads progress was different. The actual number of packages i had to download was 13, but the output showed something like 140235... though the update seems to have gone fine.
