Hello and Happy New Year, all! Iā€™m Jeff, a hazardous waste technician at a University in Missouri. Iā€™ve been using Manjaro for several years now, and I really enjoy it! Iā€™ve bounced back and forth between a few different environments, but I feel like Iā€™ve found a home with Manjaro. Iā€™ve still got a lot to learn about Linux, but Iā€™m comfortable enough to have removed Windows from my home desktop and to have a separate hard drive for it on my laptop. Iā€™m finding that I prefer it over Windows for the control and for the ease in keeping my machines updated.

Iā€™m too old and stupid to use this forum. Oh, well. I tried setting up Manjaro on Raspberry pi 4 b. Everything went fine and then I discovered my IBM Model 2 keyboard was not recognized. No predictability in key strokes. I switched to a Logitech keyboard. Same result. I donā€™t see enough merit in Manjaro to try and sort this out. Plenty of other distros that work. Neither keyboard was listed in list of choices. Thanks Manjaro, see you around.

Hello all, and Happy New Year 2023. Iā€™m baptizo, and I started dabbling with Linux maybe 30 years ago? Been a committed user for about 20 years, using various distros over the years. I used Manjaro several years ago but had some compatibility problems with my laptop. I just installed it on the same laptop this morning with the proprietary drivers install option, and it seems to be working just fine (so far, anyway). Iā€™m using this laptop right now to increase my Linux knowledge (separate from my daily work machine, which runs a different distro at least for now). Going through ā€œThe Linux Command Lineā€ PDF right now, to make sure I have a good foundation for everything before moving into other topics.
Thanks for a great distro!

Hello! Iā€™m FSharp4, a newly-graduated Electrical Engineering major from McGill University. I just installed Manjaro last month on my (7yo) personal machine to give it some more useful lifespan (which was a very successful endeavor). I donā€™t have too much experience with linux outside of this past month, but my Manjaro experience has been very positive thus far

Hi

Have been here in this forum before but my account disappeared (lack of use - not enough problems!). Long time linux user.

Hi everyone. I just installed Manjaro Cinnamon from Windows. Thought it was time for a change. It took a while to adjust and get things right. Getting Firefox installed took a while. But, Iā€™m getting there. I forgot what a pain it was just not syncing up with Google. I used Zorin for a bit a couple years back, but eventually went back to Windows. I still get flickering on the screen, which I havenā€™t figured out yet. Apparently, itā€™s common.

Hello,
I used Xubuntu for maybe 8 years before switching nearly a year ago to Manjaro XFCE in order to streamline having more current kernel/drivers/software for gaming. Been loving it so far, feels stable yet actively updated and I appreciate the big forum/support community.

Hello Everyone,

Iā€™m Arlie, retired software engineer. Iā€™ve used - and written software for - just about everything except perhaps the kitchen sink. This includes several linux distros.

Iā€™m currently playing a rousing game of pick-a-distro yet again, and one of my friends likes Manjaro, so I was browsing your site, and the forum software suggested I sign up, so here I am.

If I wind up installing Manjaro, and like it, I imagine Iā€™ll turn into a regular. Otherwise Iā€™ll probably just dry up and blow away-)

Either way, I wish all of you a great 2023.

Hello everyone.

I just started using Manjaro on a brand new desktop. Although Iā€™ve used Linux in the past a handful of times, for all intents and purposes I might as well be a day 1 user. Iā€™m migrating from Windows 7, because thereā€™s quite a few web dev things that donā€™t really work on Windows 7 anymore.

Itā€™s my goal to use Manjaro for general browsing/youtube/anime, gaming, game development, and web development.

Hi. Duffy here. Iā€™m new to Manjaro. Used Mint primarily for the last 5 years. Bounced back and forth trying other distros.

Never really happy completely. I must say, a very annoying experience thus far. Yes, I came from Windows.

Just installed this, and wow. Nice. I had some issues, but found I always could figure out how to correct. Somehow this Manjaro ā€œspeaks to meā€.

I will enjoy this ride.

Hey all.

First time Manjaro user here. Iā€™m currently dual-booting Manjaro and Win 8.1 on a Surface Pro 3, dumping windows as soon as the wife gets used to this OS. Having some minor issues now, but got the wireless working now, so the rest should be easy enough.

Hopefully will stay with this OS, but I do tend to hop once in a whileā€¦

Hi all, I recently installed Manjaro kde and as I discover it I appreciate it more and more, before I was using Windows 8.1.
Iā€™m from Italy and I deal with web and android app development.

Hello everyone, I was a member here on the forum before but then but then got kicked out due to inactivity  (was just happy with my Manjaro installation). I got to know Linux many many years ago with Kanotix.

About 13 years experience with Manjaro. I switched from Windows because the bluescreens were increasingly getting on my nerves.

I love the idea of ā€˜rolling releaseā€™ and that there is a central package management for all the software. I like that I donā€™t need the latest hardware to keep my system running smoothly.

Thanks to the developers and the support here in the forum!

Grateful greetings,
Andreas
