Audio codec RT5640 bytcr-rt5640 is more common on ARM systems
This audio codec might be better supported by a later kernel version and/or patches for alsa-ucm
But it is not relevant to OP issue with USB device
PCM2902 Audio Codec is very common and usually works well with driver snd_usb_audio
IMO a later kernel is unlikely to resolve an audio issue
(but it could be a Million-to-one chance )
