@Zesko It’s fixed on 6.4.7 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217698#c5

I considered that, but lib32-libnm has more dependencies than lib32-libudev0-shim, plus the package alone is a lot larger (1.6mb, vs the 13kb shim package). Not only that, but lib32-libudev0-shim is already a dependency of steam-native-runtime and is thus likely to already be installed on gaming systems already.

As is lib32-libnm … but sure use whatever. Though I still contend this one is better.

smcv [contributor]:
Until the issues with libudev.so.0 version comparison are resolved, the workaround I would suggest as most likely to be reliable is to install a 32-bit libnm.so.0 (lib32-libnm on Arch, libnm0:i386 on Debian/Ubuntu, or whatever is the closest equivalent on other OSs). Having this library at the OS level has solved other Steam crashes in the past (when an older libnm has trouble talking to a new NetworkManager) so it’s a good idea in general, whether this issue is solved differently or not.

He goes on to say

That said, I made the lib32-libnm workaround the first one suggested in stable and testing update issue wiki posts, as the shim workaround would force more than just steam and might cause other issues (although I have yet to see any…i’ve been using the steam-native/-runtime package on my systems for years).

That was said much earlier in the thread when there was some less understanding … the thing I quote is from the very last message in that thread and goes to reaffirm it as the best current working solution.
I do suspect that changes in the future could create some other problem … as is the nature of things.

PSA: squashfuse 0.3.0-1 breaks AppImages:

This problem appeared in 53e1b97 when signatures of functions such as sqfs_lookup_path and sqfs_open_image got changed (new function argument added). Libappimage(both upstream and in arch repository) is compiled with squashfuse v0.2 uses old signatures which leads to segfault. So for now simply overlay with 0.2 until upstream fixed it. @Yochanan

Downgrade to 2.0 from 3.0. Users should install downgrade and then downgrade squashfuse to 2.0.

If the package is getting “overlayed” no need to mess with your system and downgrade and add package to ignored packages list (but I guess people in Unstable know they could downgrade if they want/need). Just update the system with the proper flag once it is fixed on Manjaro repo.

i’m on stable and just got a similar error too upon boot,i noticed a dock icon having a hard time to show, which made me check for errors:

Actually for those running Appimages downgrading squashfuse is the way to go so they can run their Appimages till the file is fixed. Now that said as of today looks like it’s already been addressed. Two machines back on version 3.0.

It has? How so?

That’s literally the version yourself said to go back from

And what has been reported to be “broken”

So I don’t know how it has been fixed by staying on same version  (according to Branch Compare page, nothing has changed).

But yeah obviously people who need to run an AppImage right now could downgrade to run them. I meant generally, no need to downgrade, just be patient it will get sorted out.

Upstream has fixed the issue and it’s applied with squashfuse 0.3.0-2.

Just say I forgot to mention that it was a point update and not play the stupid games.

As note:
linux65-rc2, rc3, rc4 kernel versions has lack in support of double screens: I see that displayport-connected display shows black screen without mouse cursor, and primary one display (HDMI-connected) works well.

Switching to linux64 fixes the problem: both displays starts to work well.

Appreciate the heads up. IIRC, I installed the nm library.

Be careful/mindful with filesystem / systemd updates: /etc/vconsole.conf got removed on my system and broke building initramfs (I’m using systemd hooks in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf):

Odd, I got a default file along with the original being moved to .pacsave.
Which of course is how it should go.
