[Unstable Update] 2021-12-13 - Python 3.10 Rebuilds

Hey folks! The only thing I noticed at the moment is that I’m no longer able to manage bluetooth devices via Gnome Settings. I’m fully using Pipewire as media server.

I haven’t had a chance to troubleshoot this yet but will do as soon as I can

Same here…

Remove mugshot, update then reinstall it. 0.4.3-2 is the updated rebuild.

Noticed no display on X but can access virtual terminals fine as well as internet access. I’m currently trying to find out what package is responsible and what I can do to resolve it and what feedback to give.

Perfect, thank you.

Nvidia 470xx drivers need an update

Edit: Has been pushed, just not in any mirror yet, it seems.

Despite the amount of packages and their total size I only had a couple of minor issues, one was infamous “signature … is marginal trust” and another one with python-language-server which I should have removed long ago.
Thanks, this was a flawless experience!

Got the `Changing NetworkManager Connectivity-Ping to manjaro.org` notification, but afterwards the app actually connects to ping.manjaro.org (was caught by firewall)

I found odd that by updating

To upgrade (3):
  networkmanager 1.32.12-2 (1.32.12-1) extra 3.5 MB
...
Reloading system bus configuration... [6/7]
Changing NetworkManager Connectivity-Ping to manjaro.org [7/7]
Transaction successfully finished.

and after manual turn off and on the network connection I found that the network manager still connects to ping.manjaro.org:80
If I found exact config file, then it’s content is:

~/Desktop ❯ cat /usr/lib/NetworkManager/conf.d/20-connectivity.conf
[connectivity]
uri=http://ping.manjaro.org/check_network_status.txt
~/Desktop ❯ ls -A1 /usr/lib/NetworkManager/conf.d/
20-connectivity.conf
~/Desktop ❯
~/Desktop ❯ ls -A1 /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d

lib32-vulkan-intel and lib32-vulkan-radeon are still present in community.

Your mirror is out of date then. I removed them right after @koshikas posted.

What’s up with 5.15 kernel gen? Why so frequent updates?
Usually 1 update per week, now 3 updates per 3 days already, so another 2 are… urgent? What happen?
Constant need for PC reboots…

If they are urgent, then why 5.15.7 in stable and 5.15.8 in testing still? (Manjaro - Branch Compare)

I get this error of loading Kernel Modul acpi_call (Old ThinkPad T60):

Dez 17 18:50:26 memepad kernel: acpi_call: version magic '5.16.0-1-MANJARO SMP preempt mod_unload ' should be '5.15.10-1-MANJARO SMP preempt mod_unload '

@oberon it’s happen because of the patch removal?

they were released as frequently as well. surely must be for obvious reasons, than when its not. no reasons to complain if its that serious anyway.

https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/#:~:text=ChangeLog-5.15.10%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%2017,14%3A24%20%20%20%201019

and we are in unstable branch afterall, sooner we have nothing to alarm functionally, the other branches can get them as well (the last changelog is lenghthy)

I guess you’re talking about this?

@Yochanan Has libreswan been removed? I went to install networkmanager-l2tp which has libreswan as a recommended dependency, but such package is missing in the repo.

libreswan has always been in the AUR and so was networkmanager-l2tp until last February. I’ll let the Arch package maintainer know he forgot to import libreswan along with it.

EDIT: The maintainer decided to drop libreswan from optional dependencies instead of importing it. :man_shrugging:

Perhaps, GRUB update involved.

PC boot up directly after grub menu: `error: sparse file not allowed`

Going back to the issue above, it appears to happen only with kernel series 5.15 every time my system boots up from a restart. If I previously power off my system and then I boot it up again with kernel 5.15, then I will be able to manage Bluetooth devices from Gnome Settings. This odd behaviour was introduced for me after this major update, although it never happens with kernel series 5.10.

No big deal, but still I think it’s worth reporting this in case someone else experiences the same in future releases for the other branches.

Updated inxi output below (truncated) for further reference :slightly_smiling_face:
