I guess i have some questions regarding packagekit changes.
Since Manjaro ships it’s own version, gnome-software is unable to make any system package updates as it doesn’t seem to be noticing that there are updates. Furthermore basically every mirror sync on unstable followed by pacman -Syyuu or similar pamac update with enabled downgrade, wants to downgrade just updated packages. Is somebody else experiencing this or is aware that there is a problem?

For example, just updated package was:
[2021-09-17T09:50:03+0200] [ALPM] upgraded pacman (6.0.1-1 -> 6.0.1-2)

now running pamac update -a - it wants to downgrade again…
Warning: pacman: downgrading from version 6.0.1-2 to version 6.0.1-1

It’s like there is either only one up to date mirror and by refreshing the mirrors i always get the outdated one or something i didn’t think of yet. However that does not explain why gnome-software is now unable to see packagekit updates. :man_shrugging:

@pux, I have no such issue.

Does the

sudo pacman-mirrors -B unstable -c Germany -P https -a
sudo pacman -Syyu
sudo pamac update --force-refresh

operations are not solving the issue of to get rid of pacman downgrade suggestion?

Well it is a recurring issue since a few weeks or so, but maybe your suggestion to use https mirrors will solve it, I give it a try thanks!
I do normally use sudo pacman-mirrors -g -f 3 , which always worked fine since years until recently it seems.

It’s not possible to update timeshift as usual.:

Error: The operation could not be performed (Conflicting files)
timeshift: /usr/lib/system/system/grub-btrfs.path exists in the file system (belongs to grub-btrfs)
Errors occurred, no packages were updated.

@Yochanan

What do you mean, “as usual?”

I reverted the change and replaced 20.11.1+28+gefed117-2. with 20.11.1+28+gefed117-1 again.

It seems that i found the issue with my mirror list, which is like i thought.

Output of:
sudo pacman-mirrors --country Germany --api --set-branch unstable
0.084 Germany : https://manjaro.re/

only one mirror was found and, this one is not up to date even if the the status says otherwise.
So, because i updated my packages seconds before on a up to date mirror, by changing to manjaro.re
it want to downgrade my packages.

Output of:
sudo pacman-mirrors --geoip
0.131 Germany : https://manjaro.re/

Output of:
sudo pacman-mirrors -g -f 3
0.079 Germany : https://manjaro.re/

@philm this mirror is somehow out of date even if it says otherwise.
Using 0.594 Global : https://mirrors.manjaro.org/repo/ seems to work fine.

Looking at Index of /unstable/

yes ! very strange mirror

unstable is ok for manjaro and pacman, 16 update in community today

new file since 20 Sep… but this file is same since 08 Sep :upside_down_face:
since 08 Sep this mirror send “old” database
it’s the only mirror with such an outdated “last-modified”

Prev. family (at least linux514) was fixed earlier: Xhci_pci Warning while building initramfs

ADDED:

The same warning for the rc2:

Package (1) Old Version New Version Net Change Download Size

core/linux515 5.15.rc1.210918.g6880fa6-1 5.15.rc2.210920.ge4e737b-1 -0.01 MiB 97.35 MiB

The patch needs to be updated for 5.15 but hey it’s just a warning

May be it is warning only cause “possibly missing” and if it could be determined as “missing” for sure, than it probably would be from an error category.

Also generally warnings are usually prevents further errors. Warnings need to be fixed to prevent future errors. That’s the general purpose of warnings and should not just ignore all warnings.

A post was split to a new topic: Menda-Circle icons no longer render properly

I assume this one

Yes, but I think something was changed on the 5.15 kernel so it doesn’t apply to that?

but nothing about the upstream patch itself

most likely this: [patch] fix xhci Renesas revert (5144b7e8) · Commits · Packages / Core / linux515 · GitLab
