Unlock after long time locked

That is exactly what I’m doing. It’s why I have my operating system on a separate drive than my data.

I’m kinda paranoid.

Thanks for liking my username!

I’ve tried using Manjaro KDE, but in the end it ended up being incredibly unstable, too many small or large issues kept appearing (can’t remember them all right now). The logon issue was not fixed for me (20 days ago). I have a strong suspicion that it may be some conflict of KDE with either hardware or some software I used. 2 years ago I also tried Kubuntu and it was unstable too, though not to a such degree. In general, never had a good experience with KDE, which is a shame, it looks great. Ubuntu Gnome behaved well, though, and right now I am using Manjaro XFCE which is also stable on my system.

I have never had any problems with KDE. I’ve also never tried Kubuntu. Have used Ubuntu, heavily modifies, but not Kubuntu. Also never used XFCE, although I can imagine it would work well where so many resources as KDE need aren’t available. I just decided that I have many resources available, so went with KDE. And haven’t looked back. It’s awesome!

This issue is still affecting me. I am using plasma-desktop-5.23.4

I haven’t had this even once since my re-installation, so I’m guessing I’m doing something differently. I’ve read, somewhere, somewhen on here that it can be caused by .pacnew files, and I have been trying to run a tighter ship, so maybe that’s it. Try:

sudo DIFFPROG=meld pacdiff

Of course, for this make sure meld is installed first.
