Trouble with DisplayLink Hub (Targus DOCK191)

Hi everyone. I am a brand new Linux user. I have essentially no command line experience. I am trying to get my USB3 Targus DOCK191 to work - that is to say, work with my other two displays. I tried to install evdi in the terminal but no luck. I would appreciate any assistance, particularly step by step instructions. Please be patient with this noob :slight_smile:

Create a snapshot of your computer system - your issue may be caused by the dock

pamac build hw-probe

Hope I did this right! It isn’t letting me post the hyperlink for some reason, so here is the probeid

probe=049863bd33

There is no dock in the listing - so either you did not attach while running the probe or it does not work with Linux.

Sorry, this one with the hub connected!

probe=f8e42da2f1

The device is connect and appears functional

Product=Targus USB-C DV4K Docking Station 100W Power

HW probe of Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 2... #f8e42da2f1: usb-devices

Locate your system’s Settings Manager and setup your displays

no known issues

desktop used (Plasma) and mode (usb 3.2) seems to indicate you may want to install plasma-thunderbolt package - you may need to reconnect the device

sudo pacman -Syu plasma-thunderbolt

First of all, thank you for responding so fast! I’m sorry it took me awhile to post the information; I had a little trouble figuring out how to format the from the terminal so I didn’t get rejected for having a link :sweat:

Anyway, I entered the command you indicated, then restarted and unfortunately no luck. The displays still are not recognized, or indicated in the System Settings - Displays & Monitor.

Not sure what to do next.

Also, I unplugged and plugged in the device again.
