Trouble with an external HDD drive for Steam

Hello, my fellow penguins,

I’ve had this 500 GB external HDD lying around for a while, and since I’m running out of space on my internal SSD (laptop), I decided to use it for some of my more space-consuming games. I split the drive in two, one formatted as NTFS for Windows and the other as ext4 for Linux games.

When I added the ext4 partition as a drive in Steam and tried to download a game on it, I encountered this error:

I’ve tried creating a folder on the drive, but I can’t seem to create or modify any files. I’ve experimented with using the chown command (though I’m not very familiar with it), but I think I might have messed up the steps. I’ve searched through various forums for solutions related to permissions, but haven’t found anything helpful yet. The driver is called “HDD_Linux”.

Any help would be appreciated.
