Timed out waiting for device disk, dependency failed, and emergency mode

Hello, I’ve seen some similar topics here about this problem, but mine is a bit more complicated. It’s my fresh install of Manjaro (latest stable) and on boot it throws errors, asks for pressing enter and then do absolutely nothing.

[ TIME ] Timed out waiting for device /dev/disk/by-uuid/DOBA-5038
[DEPEND] Dependency failed File N /dev/disk/by-uuid/DOBA-5038
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for /boot/efi
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Local File Systems.
You are in emergency mode. After logging in, type "journalctl - xb" to view system logs, "systemctl reboot" to reboot, "systemctl default" or "exit" to boot into default mode.

Cannot open access to the console, root account is blocked. More information on guide page sulogin(8).

Please press enter to continue.

Reloading system manager configuration
Starting default target

And after pressing enter, I see blinking underscore forever.

Since it’s a fresh install, you can try reinstalling right away. Or you can try digging a bit and learn some stuff.

Okay so I don’t want to reinstall it because installation took about 5 hours. I’m dual booting with windows 10 on another drive. I’ve did manual partition while installing, boot loader set to target drive, MBR, 4 GB for /boot/efi, and all space left to /, no swap because I have 16 GB RAM

that sounds a little strange - but you probably know what you are doing and why

… since you installed alongside Windows - did you disable secure boot and fast startup?

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  2. Boot the Manjaro USB stick again and provide the output of an inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text

  3. Because this:

sounds wrong and the above provides us with full system information to help you further.

P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU or Kernel, … you have without typing it every time

I was looking for tutorial for installing update able manjaro on USB stick and I’ve found. I’ve followed this guide

  1. In the future, when providing code/output, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text so that the output looks like this:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.

Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.

    instead of like this:

(as that makes both our lives much easier)

  2. No need to do anything right now as I’m an editor here on this site and have fixed it for you already. However, in the future I might not see your post so review my edits by pushing the orange pencil above the post I just fixed.

  3. Kernel 5.9 is EOL please install both 5.4 and 5.10 LTS (Long Time Support) and see which one troubles you least.

  4. If you plan on playing games, use the proprietary (non-free) drivers

  5. By this point, I agree with @maycne.sonahoz : Re-install is going to be easier.

Please read this if that makes you :frowning:

So, what I need to do? I want a Live USB stick of Manjaro that I can store data and they will stay after reboot. Also,

I’ve downloaded Manjaro ISO yesterday and it embedded 5.9
