The sound cards are detected but getting no sound

earlier i had a problem where the sound cards were not getting detected at all
so i switched kernel to 5.4 and they are now getting detected atleast but i hear no sound still
the process was:

  1. i used this command systemctl --user disable --now pipewire.socket && systemctl --user disable --now pipewire.service && systemctl --user mask pipewire.socket to disable the pipewire service
  2. i ran this command sudo pacman -S manjaro-pipewire(i found this somewhere in the forum) and i think all the pulseaudio modules were uninstalled in the process
  3. rebooted and selected the pro audio option from the pavucontrol

now i get the cards and everything but i dont hear anything
here is a little info

okay, one possible issue is the kernel you’re using. a short search for “linux Intel Comet Lake PCH-LP” shows up that your kernel should be 5.19 or newer. please update/upgrade to a newer kernel that is 5.19 or higher.

i had that earlier but no sound cards were detected there
that was the reason i switched to an older version
here the sound cards are detected
but i get no sound
i’ll try switching to the latest kernel and see what happens

[quote=“tanishk, post:1, topic:125425”]

sudo pacman -S manjaro-pipewire
The above command reinstalled pipewire for you.

yes sir
now that i do aplay -l i get

card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]

and
http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=209cd664e9cee3a07abe4f122b35e3b8c3cea33d
so the cards are being detected but i am getting no sound
i am on kernel 5.14

5.15 kernel is the LTS one you should be using

ill try there

not getting sound sir
cards are detected but no sound

I think it is probably your connections please explain your set up and if you have not got pavucontrol install it.

sir i have pavucontrol installed already

Ok so which one are you connected to?

i am connected to this audio pro one

And the playback tab shows?

Amplifier and Speakers?

how do i check those sir?
