[Testing Update] 2021-05-12 - Kernels, KDE Frameworks, Plasma, Systemd, Mesa, LibreOffice, KDE Gear Mobile, FF, TB

I actually got my performance back in steam proton with most games by swapping to regular plasma-desktop. I don’t even know what the change made, but all my games were lagging a lot with plasma-desktop-primex.

I updated one machine. There is an update for protobuf and while the last few times it somehow wasn’t necessary, this time we need a rebuild of compiz-easy-patch again.

i’ve not encountered any immediate issues, mainly around snapper (snapper-gui and snap-pac-grub). If you automated your snapshots in another way that doesn’t use btrfs-progs (or is not affected from the bug), you should be fine

That got fixed via btrfs-progs 5.12-2

Nice, seems to be ok on my side - thank you!

Installed kernel 5.12 again. Still the same issue. No big problem so far though. When I want i3, I start with kernel 5.11, otherwise I have sway.

@folky Maybe check if you have a similar issue as this person:

A few minutes ago I did the btrfs update
I receive this warnings

Any idea?
Edit:
The message shows in the GUI, so I did a re-check of the branch and mirrors
After posting I did the branding check (testing)
sudo pacman-mirrors --api --set-branch testing
sudo pacman-mirrors --fasttrack 5 && sudo pacman -Syyu
The error was the same

The xfce4-clipman-plugin has an issue where the Primary selection is not truncated, making the popup stretch the entire screen if you previously selected a huge chunk of text with your mouse. I’ve opened an issue upstream:

@folky , maybe can also be your issue: FS#70488 : [libglvnd] sway 1.6 fails to start

@riggs see here branch-compare:

pamac-gtk repository : extra
Stable : 10.0.6-2
Testing : 10.0.6-2
Unstable : 10.1.1-2

I have issue with KDE, plasma-desktop cannot loaded. I got black screen and nothing don’t happen after login. I can only move mouse pointer.

Also In SDDM I got error:

The current theme cannot be loaded due to the errors below, please select another theme.

file:///usr/share/sddm/themes/breath2Main.qml:26:1: plugin cannot be loaded for module “org.kde.plasma.core”. Cannot load library /usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/plasma/core/libcorebindingsplugin.so: (/usr/lib/libKF5PlasmaQuick.so.5: undefinded symbol: _ZN14KWindowEffects11slideWindowEP7QWindowNS_17SlideFromLocationEi)

I tried select anothere theme changing parameter in config file /etc/sddm.conf, clean up cache folder but it don’t help me.

After so I removed package plasma-framework and all its dependencies, change branch to stable and install all packages from that branch.

sudo pacman -Rcs plasma-framework
sudo pacman-mirrors -aB stable
sudo pacman -Syyu
sudo pacman -S plasma-desktop plasma-disks sddm-kcm kgamma5 systemsettings powerdevil plasma-pa ....

My branch is testing, not unstable.

The pamac redesign was reverted in testing, for some reason. I just downgraded with the update (sudo pacman -Syyuu), and everything works fine.

Then there is an issue with branch compare again.

Pamac is on 10.1 since previous update on Testing branch. [Testing Update] 2021-05-03 - Kernels, Mesa, Nvidia 465.27, VirtualBox, LxQt 0.17, Deepin, Gnome Apps 40.1

//EDIT: no there has been a rollback on Testing branch actually. I forced refresh my database and see:

Seems that wait is the best option 'cause -Syyuu will going back the branch to stable…

So and quote:

Be aware that after switching to a more stable branch you will receive messages from pacman, informing about newer packages installed than available in the repo. Don’t be alarmed as the situation will resolve itself when the packages reaches your current branch.
From branches wiki questions roll back

Downgrading doesn’t change the branch you’re on. It just brings packages to the same versions they’re at in the repos for your branch.

You should use the </> button instead of creating a quote when you share terminal output so that it doesn’t create a fat block of text without proper formatting. Edit :pencil2: your post (and select terminal output, click the button) to make it good.

The Starcraft 2 game in wine shows empty black screen after update. I am using amdgpu. Downgraded to stable for now.
