Taskbar chrome shortcut (apps) icons change back to google-chrome's on loading

I think the best way of describing my problem is that is the exact same as described in this topic.

However the response that was given as ‘working’ is not working for me. I’ve a fresh install of Manjaro with KDE:

$ cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=ManjaroLinux
DISTRIB_RELEASE=21.0.5
DISTRIB_CODENAME=Ornara
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=“Manjaro Linux”

$ plasmashell --version
plasmashell 5.21.5

$ kf5-config --version
Qt: 5.15.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.82.0

Any ideas? (Sorry If I missplaced my question or bad formatting, is my first post :slight_smile: )

I’m super new to linux in general but eager to learn. I tried opening one of the shortcuts generated with chrome and get the log from journalctl. Here is the result (maybe it helps?):

jun 09 12:42:46 manjaro systemd[1530]: Started WhatsApp.
jun 09 12:42:46 manjaro systemd[1530]: app-chrome\x2dhnpfjngllnobngcgfapefoaidbinmjnm\x2dDefault-3fd68f8dc62f4b98b1a9291663f3ac2b.scope: Succeeded.
jun 09 12:42:47 manjaro kwin_x11[1600]: qt.qpa.xcb: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 56807, resource id: 39846426, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0

Thanks in advance :slight_smile:

So, I come back with a workaround, not a solution. When doing the exact same process using Chromium instead of Chrome, everything works as expected. Not really sure why but hope it helps someone
